Recordings

If you don't have a fileserver for your recordings, you'll need to expose the VDRs recording directory (using nfs or samba) or (if the workstation is powerfull enough) install the services of VdrAssistant to the VDR.

EPG-data and more

If you use a timerbased wakeup on your VDR, you might want to take a look at TV-events without turning on the VDR.

That's the job of the EPG-browser (SRAppEpgManager) of VdrAssistant. To enable that browser to show any data, you'll need to setup and run the system service SRSrvEpgProfessor, which connects to the VDR and saves the EPG-data for offline usage. The counterpart of the epg-importer is the vdrproxy, which needs to get installed at your VDR.

The installer of vdrproxy is a separate download
